WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption University women's ice hockey team skated to a 2-2 tie against Franklin Pierce University in New England Women's Hockey Alliance action Friday evening at the Worcester Ice Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The first period was back and forth, with both sides handling some meaningful possession. Assumption got on the board first at the 12:55 minute mark through
Alexa Hanrahan with an assist from
Lexi Kirkeby. Although the Ravens answered with some chances,
Carissa Mudrak made a couple of saves to keep the Greyhounds in front.
The second period was similar to the first, with the Greyhounds scoring again at almost the exact same point in time in comparison to the first period. This time, it was
Ava McGaffigan who added to the lead with
Kaitlyn Cielo and
Ella Rago getting assists. After two, the Hounds led 2-0.
The third period was full of chaos and a flurry of penalties, and the Ravens benefited from the shift. Jenna Ruiz scored two goals in the third period to push the game to overtime, however neither side could capitalize. The score would end 2-2 after the late run from the visitors.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Carissa Mudrak logged 51 saves for the Greyhounds.
- Franklin Pierce outshot Assumption 53-38, while the Ravens won 45 of 79 faceoffs.
- Neither team scored on the powerplay, as the Greyhounds were 0-for-7 while the visitors were 0-for-5.
- Sheridan Terrazzano played in her 100th career game.
- The all-time series is tied at 1-1-1.
