MANCHESTER, N.H. – Kasey Draper and Kani Glover surpass milestones, but the Assumption men's basketball team fell to Southern New Hampshire University 91-69 in Northeast-10 Conference action Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Southern New Hampshire started strong out of the break, going up 8-2 through Derrick Grant with the dunk. The run continued as Assumption struggled offensively out of the break. The home side could go up 16-3, leading to a timeout. The Hounds scored only five points through ten minutes of play, as Southern New Hampshire led 29-5. Alex Carlisle, Kasey Draper, and Njavan Stewart all battled hard to try and get back in it, coming to within 15 through Stewart's layup at 2:14. At the break, the Penmen were suffocating the Hounds defensively, and they led 40-20.  
 
The second half was much closer than the first, as Assumption found their scoring again. Every time Assumption tried to get within 15 or so, the Penmen could score a couple more baskets to keep the lead close to 20. To add to his total, Kani Glover got going with a jumper and a three-ball on two straight possessions. A couple of minutes later, Kyle Gaskins and then Draper scored back-to-back buckets with 10:58 to go, leading to a timeout as the lead was 65-46 in favor of the home team. The Hounds continued to chip away as Draper's fast break of three balls chopped the deficit to 13, giving Southern New Hampshire a reason to call a timeout. With only minutes to go, the Hounds were not going away quietly. However, the lopsided first half made the comeback too difficult.
 
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Kasey Draper led the Greyhounds with 17 points, while Kani Glover was behind him with 16 points.
• Southern New Hampshire outrebounded Assumption 39-30 while also controlling the paint, outscoring the opposition 36-24.
• Kasey Draper eclipsed the 2,000-career points plateau, while Kani Glover became the 44^th Greyhound to hit 1,000 career points.
• Southern New Hampshire leads the all-time series 31-12.
