Box Score WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption University men's ice hockey team improves to 9-1 at home, as the Greyhounds shutout Rivier University 3-0 in non-conference action Saturday afternoon at the Worcester Ice Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Jonathan Surrette continued his stellar freshman campaign, as he opened the scoring at 16:33 of the first period with his 19
th goal of the year. The Greyhounds would finish the first period up 1-0, as they outshot Rivier 13-4 and won 14 of 21 draws.
After a scoreless second period,
Jake Lavoie capitalized on the carry-over penalty with a close-quarter goal at 51 seconds. The game would remain 2-0 for the majority of the third period, but in the final minute,
Ronny Paragallo would tap in an empty-net goal with 41 seconds showing on the center ice scoreboard.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Thomas McLarnon made 22 saves to record his first career shutout.
- Assumption outshot Rivier 37-22 while winning 33 of 58 faceoffs.
- The Greyhounds were the only team to score on the powerplay, as they went 1-for-4, while the Raiders went 0-for-2.
- This is the first meeting between the two programs.
