HOW IT HAPPENED
It was a back-and-forth affair, with Bentley scoring three times before Assumption tied it up each time. Katelynn Johnston had a fantastic start for the Hounds, securing a first-quarter hat trick with just 3:53 minutes remaining. The Falcons ended the first quarter strongly, ripping off three straight goals to take a lead after one. Meave Johnson added two, while Natalia Dutkewych got her third on the year for a 6-3 lead after one for Bentley.

In the second quarter, she scored lower than the first, with Assumption edging 2-1. After an early Falcons goal by Caroline Affolter, Johnston added a fourth with 10:54 to go before Molly Weiand scored her first on the day at 9:52. That would be the last goal of the first half, as Bentley led 7-5 at the break.

Bentley scored the first goal of the third quarter, as Amanda Davis got on the board after more than six minutes of play. Assumption responded well defensively, as Weiand added a second with 2:54 to go before Morgan Bolduc provided her second goal of the year with seven seconds remaining in the quarter. Heading into the final frame, Assumption trailed 8-7.

In a tight game, the Falcons would capitalize first and go up 9-7 through Courtney Dermody, making it a two-goal game again with 13:05 to go. Joseph would get the Hounds back within one just over a minute later from a free position shot, making the score 9-8. Davis added another with 10:12 to go, which would prove to be the last goal of the day. The last ten minutes were a defensive battle, and the Bentley Falcons would defeat the Assumption Greyhounds 10-8.
