BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Assumption baseball team could not hold on to a late lead and would fall to No. 22 Lynn University in non-conference action Monday afternoon at the Lynn Baseball Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Lynn was the first team to get on the board, as they plated four runs in the bottom of the first inning. The host's lead would grow to 6-0 following a two-run second inning.
Justin Ray settled in after a rocky first two frames, as he responded by allowing three hits in the next three scoreless innings.
Assumption got on the board in the top of the fourth inning, as
Cody Smith scored on a wild pitch after a leadoff double. The Greyhounds tied the game with a five-run top of the fifth inning, with Max Lafrancois,
Lorenzo Lombardo,
Jack Barry, and
Christopher Rabias picking up RBI in the frame. Assumption added a few insurance runs in the top of the sixth, as Lafrancois drove in
Jamison Howland with an RBI single, before Barry drove in three with an opposite field home run. The Fighting Knights responded with a four-run bottom of the sixth inning to tie the game at 10-10.
Lynn would continue their momentum into the seventh and eighth innings, plating two runs in each frame to go up 14-10. The Greyhounds would try to rally in the top of the ninth, as they would get runners on first and second with just one out, but they would not be able to cut into the deficit and would fall 14-10.
