SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Assumption University softball team dropped two games in Florida, as they fell twice to No. 18 Saint Leo University Monday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME ONE – Saint Leo University 7, Assumption University 2
Saint Leo was the first team to score, as they had an RBI single in the bottom of the first inning. Assumption tied the game in the top of the fourth, as Lauren Geremia scored on a passed ball. The Lions responded with four runs in the bottom of the fourth, on just one hit.
The Greyhounds picked up their second run of the contest in the top of the fifth, as Jaiden Tonucci scored on a Summer Sheerin flare single to right field. The hosts tacked on two more runs in the bottom half of the fifth to push the final score to 7-2 in game one.
GAME TWO – Saint Leo University 3, Assumption University 1
The Lions scored first again, plating three runs in the bottom of the second inning. The Greyhounds got on the board in the top of the third, as Corin Mahan doubled down the right field line, scoring Tonucci on the play.
Assumption would only get one runner into scoring position for the remainder of the game and would fall to Saint Leo 3-1.
