DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Assumption University softball team dropped a pair of games late, as they fell to Lander University 3-2, before losing to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University 4-3 at Radiology Associate Field on the campus of Embry-Riddle University Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME ONE – Lander University 3, Assumption University 2
Assumption struck first in the top of the third, as
Corin Mahan secured an RBI as
Jaiden Tonucci came around to score. The lead would not last long, as Bella Angeli's sacrifice fly brought home Rylee Omahen. After three, the game was tied 1-1.
The Greyhounds were the next to score in the top of the fifth as
Heather Junjulas singled to left, bringing in
Bianca Vincequere for a 2-1 lead. Assumption was in good shape until the bottom of the sixth, where the Bearcats tacked on two runs for a 3-2 lead. The Hounds could not score again and suffered a 3-2 defeat.
GAME TWO – Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University 4, Assumption University 3
The Greyhounds cracked the scoreboard in the top of the second inning, as
Summer Sheerin scored on an
Alyssa Johnson sacrifice bunt before platting one more run on a bases-loaded hit by pitch. Embry-Riddle got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the fourth inning, as Shelby Morse drove in Karina Ortiz-Munoz on a sacrifice fly to right field.
Assumption plated an insurance run in the top of the eighth inning as
Corin Mahan laced a single to center field, scoring
Jordan Dwyer on the play. The Eagles cut the deficit to one run (3-2) as they scored on an obstruction call. Embry-Riddle walked off in the bottom of the seventh after plating two runs on three hits and one error.
