MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Assumption University softball team pushed their winning streak to six games, as they swept Southern New Hampshire University, 3-2 and 3-1, in Northeast-10 Conference action Monday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
GAME ONE – Assumption University 3, Southern New Hampshire University 2
Assumption was the first team to strike, as
Grace Heim doubled to right center field, plating
Kaitlyn Cahill from second on the play. Southern New Hampshire responded at the bottom of the first, plating two runs in the frame. The Greyhounds tied the game in the top of the third inning, as
Corin Mahan laced a single through the left side of the infield, scoring
Lauren Geremia from third on the play.
After two scoreless innings, Assumption regained the lead as
Jordan Dwyer doubled home
Jaiden Tonucci with her shot to center field.
Anna Tassone, pitching 5.2 scoreless innings in relief, retiring seven of the last eight batters to pick up the win.
GAME TWO – Assumption University 3, Southern New Hampshire University 1
The Greyhounds started fast in game two, as they plated three runs with two outs in the top of the first inning.
Summer Sheerin drove in one with an RBI single to right field before Tonucci plated Mahan and Sheerin on the base knock to left field.
The Penmen would have to wait until the bottom of the fifth inning, when they scored on a solo home run by Ari Ferrier to lead off the frame. That would be all that SNHU would muster, as
Samantha Hardwick went the distance for the Greyhounds in the circle, scattering six hits and striking out four.
