WORCESTER, Mass. – The No. 21 Assumption University women's lacrosse team started quickly to record a 17-7 win over Southern New Hampshire University in Northeast-10 Conference action on Senior Day.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After trading the first two goals of the game, the Greyhounds went on the attack, as they rattled off five-straight goals to go up 6-1, with
Kyle Johnston,
Olivia Catanzarite,
Katelynn Johnston, and
Jenna Joseph picking up goals. The Penmen picked up a goal at 6:19, but it was responded by
Katelynn Johnston at 2:46, giving Assumption a 7-2 lead after 15 minutes.
In the second quarter, the Greyhounds continued to apply pressure, pushing the host's advantage to 11-2, with
Mallory Bartlett,
Katelynn Johnston, and
Jenna Joseph scoring. Southern New Hampshire added a goal with 2:46 remaining in the first half to send the game to halftime with Assumption leading 11-3.
The Johnston sisters opened the second half with back-to-back goals as Kyle followed Katelynn to increase the host's advantage to 13-3. After a quick answer by the Penmen,
Katelynn Johnston and
Jenna Joseph each found the back of the net to push the Greyhounds' advantage to the largest margin of 11 (15-4) with 1:52 remaining in the third quarter. SNHU would add a goal with eight seconds left in the frame to cut the deficit to ten goals. Both sides netted two goals in the fourth to bring the final score to 17-7.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Skylar Troyan recorded ten saves in the crease for the Greyhounds.
- Katelynn Johnston led all scorers with seven goals, while her sister, Kyle Johnston, added four goals.
- Jenna Joseph had five points, three goals, and two assists.
- The Greyhounds now lead the all-time series 11-11 and have won the last eight meetings.
