WORCESTER, Mass. – The No. 24 Assumption University women's lacrosse team used a big first half to run away from Franklin Pierce University and picked up an 18-9 Northeast-10 Conference win Saturday afternoon at Brian Kelly '83 Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Franklin Pierce was the first team to score, as Olivia DeLonais opened the scoring at 13:58. The Greyhounds responded with goals from
Katelynn Johnston,
Jenna Joseph, and
Olivia Catanzarite to give the hosts a 6-2 lead after 15 minutes.
Assumption opened the second quarter to continue their offense stretch, as they saw
Mallory Bartlett,
Molly Weiand, and
Kyle Johnston join in the scoring column. The Ravens would not go quietly as the half came to a close, as they recorded two goals in the final three minutes to make the score 11-4 at the break.
In the second half, the Assumption advantage fluctuated from nine goals to seven, as the Greyhounds' offense was too much for the Ravens, and the hosts came away with an 18-9 win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Skylar Troyan and Healey Torres combined to record six saves for the hosts.
- Kyle Johnston led all players with four goals, while Jenna Joseph had a game-high seven points (three goals and four assists).
- Olivia Catanzarite, Molly Weiand, and Katelynn Johnston all had three goals.
- The Greyhounds won 17-of-30 draw controls while outshooting the Ravens 31-20.
- At Halftime, the Assumption University Athletic Department honored 25 years of Women's Lacrosse at the Worcester-based campus.
