RINDGE, N.H.—The Assumption University men's soccer team secured a remarkable 1-1 Northeast-10 Conference draw against the top-ranked Franklin Pierce University Ravens on Saturday evening.
Cody Holbert's late goal earned the Greyhounds a crucial result on the road.

HOW IT HAPPENED
In the 13th minute, Franklin Pierce's Aaron Sanchez scored on a pass from Alexsi Morel, giving the Ravens an early 1-0 lead. The Ravens would hold the lead for most of the match. The Hounds mounted chance after chance when finally, in the 83rd minute,
Brady Devos threaded the ball down the right sideline, feeding
Cody Holbert, who found the back of the net to tie the game for the Greyhounds.
The Blue and White's defense was outstanding against the top-ranked Ravens. They funneled chances to the sidelines and blocked many shots before they reached goalkeeper
Iver Sjåvåg.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- The Hounds finished with 12 total shots, including seven corner kicks in the second half as they pressed for an equalizer.
- Franklin Pierce managed 17 shots, with seven on target, but Assumption goalkeeper Iver Sjåvåg made six saves to keep the Greyhounds in the game.
- Holbert's goal in the 82nd minute was his NE10-leading fifth of the season, securing the draw.
- This was the first time an NE10 team had earned a regular-season decision at Franklin Pierce since October 23, 2018.
