SPRINGFIELD, Mass.— The Assumption University Men's Basketball team snapped a two-game losing skid, as the Greyhounds came away with an 82-75 Northeast-10 Conference road win at American International College Tuesday evening. 
 
THE BASICS

Records: Greyhounds (12-4, 7-2 NE10) | Yellow Jackets (3-14, 2-7 NE10)

HOW IT HAPPENED: 
The game started fast as both shot the lights out in the first ten minutes of the contest. The Greyhounds connected on six of eight shots from deep to run out to a 25-14 lead, which was capped off by Njavan Stewart surpassing the 1,000 career point mark at 12:09. Stewart pushed the Hounds' lead to 12 points (30-18) with his layup at 10:43. American International slowly chipped away at the deficit and would draw within two points at the half. 
 
In the second half, the Yellow Jackets continued to march back and would regain a lead at 40-39 following a layup at 18:27. The would not last long, as the Greyhounds would go on an 18-7 run, powered by ten points by Jamal Barnes, over the next four minutes to go back up double digits (57-47). AIC would not go quietly, as they answered every Assumption basket and would get within seven, but could not get any closer than that, as the Greyhounds would come away with an 82-75 road win. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Jamal Barnes became just the second Greyhound to score 20+ points in a game this season, as the graduate student poured in 23 points on eight of 12 shooting. 
• Baril Mawo (16), Daouda Dembele (14), and Njavan Stewart (10) all scored double-digit points. 
• American International won the rebounding battle (39-33), while Assumption outscored the hosts in fastbreak points (23-10) and points off turnovers (10-2). 
• With his second three-pointer at the 7:51 mark of the first half, Njavan Stewart became the 46^thGreyhound to eclipse the 1,000 career-point plateau. 
• American International still leads the all-time series 38-35.
