PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y.— Led by Baril Mawo's 20 points, the Assumption University men's basketball team went on the road and defeated No. 7 Pace University 82-75 in Northeast-10 Conference action Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED: 
The two teams traded baskets from the opening tip in the early goings. Assumption supported the first five-point lead of the frame, as Lenny Tangishaka converted on a pair of free throws, making it 22-17. Pace battled their way back and took a six-point lead with 18 seconds remaining in the opening 20 minutes, but Daouda Dembele scored right before the horn and would send the two teams into the intermission, with the Setters up 38-34. 
 
In the second half, Assumption shot the lights out, hitting 68.2 percent (15-22) of their shots while holding the hosts to 36.1 percent (13-of-36). In the first five minutes, the Greyhounds went on a 9-4 run, capped off by a Tangiashaka free throw, giving the Hounds a 43-42 lead. Pace responded with a 15-5 run to go up 57-48, but a quick 7-0 run by Assumption would cut the deficit back to two points (57-55). After three straight points by the hosts, Zee McCown went on a 6-0 run to recapture the lead for the Greyhounds. The two teams exchanged baskets for the next few minutes, but with 2:09 remaining in regulation, the Greyhounds went on a 12-6 run to close out the game, with Njavan Stewart leading the charge with five points, and picking up an 82-75 vital road win. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Baril Mawo led the way for the Greyhounds with 20 points, three rebounds, and one block. 
• Daouda Dembele (12), Zee McCown (11), Lenny Tangishaka (10), and Tayshawn Cunningham-Pemberton (10) recorded double-digit points.
• Pace outrebounded Assumption, while the Greyhounds outscored the Setters in fast break points (19-14). 
• Dembele had three of Assumption's seven blocks as a team, while Pace had two.
• Tangishaka filled the stat sheet with 10 points, three rounds, four assists, two blocks, and one steal.  
• Assumption leads the all-time series 22-14.
