FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Assumption University women's ice hockey team dropped their seventh-straight contest, with the Greyhounds falling to Sacred Heart University 2-1 in New England Women's Hockey Alliance action Friday evening at the Martire Family Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
After a scoreless first period, where both sides had eight shots on goal, Isabella Chaput opened the scoring for the hosts, scoring on a power play at 6:16. The Pioneers would double their advantage before the end of the middle frame, as Ella Holm netted the games only even-strength tally.
Assumption would cut the deficit in half at 9:01 of the third period, as
Alexa Hanrahan found the back of the cage on a powerplay. Despite a late push by the Hounds, Assumption would fall 2-1 on the road to Sacred Heart.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Jadyn Weiser recorded 37 saves in the crease for the Hounds.
- Sacred Heart outshot Assumption 39-36 while also winning 28-of-52 faceoffs.
- Both teams went 1-for-2 on the powerplay.
- Sacred Heart now leads the all-time series 4-3-0.
