WORCESTER, Mass.– The Assumption University field hockey team pushed their winning streak to five games, as they took down No. 9 Saint Anselm College, 1-0 in Northeast 10 Conference action, Saturday afternoon at Brian Kelly '83 Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
In the first quarter, the game was played nearly entirely in the midfield, as Assumption was the only team to get a shot. The Greyhounds would not have to wait long into the second quarter, as
Taylor Tory scored off the feed by
Elle Murray just over a minute into the frame. Saint Anselm would respond with authority, as they outshot the hosts 7-4 in the frame and had four corners in the final five minutes.
Coming out of the break, the Hawks continued to press their offense, as they outshot the Hounds 9-4. It was the Greyhounds' top-ranked defense that flexed their muscles and kept the Manchester-based team off the scoreboard for the entirety of the second half
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Paige Gillette picked up nine saves for her third shutout of the year.
- Saint Anselm College outshot Assumption 16-9, while also having seven corners to just three for the hosts.
- The Greyhounds are not just the third team to keep the Hawks off the scoreboard on the year, joining Shippensburg and Adelphi.
- With the assist on the game's only goal, Elle Murray extended her point streak to five games, where she has totaled seven goals and two assists.
