WORCESTER, Mass.— The Assumption University women's ice hockey team fell to the University of New Hampshire, 5-1, in non-conference action, Friday evening at the Worcester Ice Center.

Records: Greyhounds (0-3-0. 0-0-0 NEWHA), Wildcats (1-2-0, 0-0-0 Hockey East)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
UNH came out of the cages strong, as they scored three goals in the opening 8:37. The Wildcats added to their lead at the 17:25 marker of the frame, to go up 4-0 after 20 minutes. Assumption would get on the scoreboard just before the halfway mark of the second period, as Alexi Kirkeby scored with
Alexa Hanrahan and
Rachel Agerter picking up the helpers on the play.
Despite a late push in the third period by the Greyhounds, the University of New Hampshire added an insurance score to bring the final score to 5-1.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Jadyn Weiser recorded 43 saves on the evening.
- UNH outshot Assumption 48-28, while the Hounds won 26-of-45 faceoffs
- The Wildcats went 1-for-4 on the power play, while the Greyhounds went scoreless on three attempts.
- UNH now leads the all-time series 2-0-1.
