WALTHAM, Mass. —The No. 16 nationally ranked Assumption University men's basketball team fell 79-77 at the buzzer at Bentley University in non-conference action, Tuesday evening at the Dana Center.
THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The two teams traded the first few points of the game, but with Assumption leading 6-5, Bentley would go on a 7-0 run to go up 12-6. The Falcons would once again extend their lead to 25-12 before the halfway mark of the first half. After a
Tayeshawn Cunningham-Pemberton layup, the hosts would continue to see their lead grow and would get to as large as 18 points (43-25) with 1:34 left in the half. The Greyhounds would not go away quietly, as
Noah Payne and
Daouda Dembele led an 8-0 run to cet Assumption within 10 points (43-33) at the intermission.
Bentley came out of the break on the attack, as they extended their lead to 53-38 before the first media timeout. Coming out of the huddle, Assumption went on a 19-7 run over the next four minutes to get within three (60-57), with
Lenny Tangishaka leading the way with six points. The two teams would trade buckets over the following few points, but a
Zee McCown layup with 5:40 left in regulation gave the Hounds a 67-66 lead. The two teams would continue to exchange baskets down the stretch, but Chase Clarke would tip in the rebounds with 0.3
BY THE NUMBERS:
- Tayeshawn Cunningham-Pemberton had a game-high 20 points, while Noah Payne added 15.
- Bentley outrebounded Assumption 32-20, while the Greyhounds forced 19 turnovers to just having four of their own.
- The Falcons now lead the all-time series 55-30.
