WORCESTER, Mass.— Tayeshawn Cunningham-Pempterton poured in a career-high 26 points as the Assumption University men's basketball team beat Saint Michael's College, 91-72 in Northeast-10 Conference action Wednesday night inside Andrew Laska Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Assumption got on the board early and never relinquished the lead.
Tayeshawn Cunningham-Pemberton began to light it up in the opening half, and the Hounds kept feeding the hot-handed sophomore. The Greyhounds took the first half 44-33, and they weren't done having fun. The alley-oop was a staple throughout the contest, keeping energy levels high up and down the roster.
Daouda Dembele was a significant factor on the court, finishing with a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Njavan Stewart was a serious threat from a distance. Stewart went 4-7 from beyond the arc, ending with 19 points off the bench. It was another well-rounded game from the best offense in the NE10.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Cunningham-Pemberton is heating up; his first 20-point career game was last week against Franklin Pierce.
- Zee McCown led the game with nine assists.
- Assumption outrebounded Saint Michael's 44-42 while also outscoring the opposition 52-20 in the paint.
- Tonight was the first double-double performance of Dembele's season; he had seven in 2023-24.
- With a 19-point win tonight, the Greyhounds have six wins this season with a 15+ point margin of victory.
- The Greyhounds lead the all-time series against the Purple Knights 39-30.
