ORANGEBURG, NY – The Assumption University women's lacrosse team dropped their third straight contest, as the Greyhounds fell to Dominican University of New York 14-11 in non-conference action Thursday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Dominican was the first team to score, as Josei Lettieri opened the scoring at 12:32 before
Kyle Johnston tied the game a minute later. Madelyn Greila scored three of the following four goals to put the Chargers up 4-2. After a
Chloe Scornavacca tally for the Greyhounds, the hosts scored back-to-back goals to close the first quarter up 6-3.
The Chargers added to their advantage in the second quarter, outscoring their opposition 4-3. Assumption saw goals from
Katelynn Johnston,
Molly Weiand, and Scornavacca. Coming out of the intermission, the Greyhounds came out strong, as
Annika Pyy, Morgan Bolbuc, and the Johnston sisters scored, cutting the deficit to just two goals (12-10).
In the fourth, Dominican recorded two goals in the final five minutes to pull away from Assumption for a 14-10 final score.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Skylar Troyan recorded her third-straight double-digit save performance with 11 saves in the crease for the Greyhounds.
- Dominican outshot Assumption, while the Hounds won 14-of-27 draw controls.
- Molly Weiand and Kyle Johnston led the way for the Blue and White, as the duo combined for three goals and three assists.
- Assumption continues to lead the all-time series 4-1.
