PLEASANTVILLE, NY—The Assumption University baseball team snapped their eight-game losing streak with a comeback win in the nightcap against Pace University on Sunday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference action.

Records: Greyhounds (2-18, 1-6 NE10), Setters (10-10, 3-4 NE10)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Game One Score: Pace University 4, Assumption University 1 (13 Innings)
Assumption was the first team to score, as
Chris Klein scored on a fielding error by the Pace pitcher in the top of the second. The Setters broke through in the bottom of the fifth with an RBI single through the left side of the infield. The game would remain tied until the bottom of the 13
th, but Matthew Franco walked off for the host with a three-run home run to left field.
The two pitching staffs were strong, as
Evan McCarthy went 9.0 innings for the Hounds, where he struck out 11, scattering four hits and issuing two walks.
Game Two Score: Assumption University 6, Pace University 5
After Pace scored in the bottom of the first inning,
Sean Moynihan gave the Greyhounds the lead with a two-run home run to center field in the top of the second. The Setters responded with two runs of their own in the bottom half of the frame to regain a one-goal advantage.
The hosts would add insurance runs in the third and the fifth, but
Jack Barry cut the deficit to two with a solo shot to center field. In the top of the seventh, the Hounds would take their first lead of the game as Klein drove in
Owen Podolec with a sacrifice fly before
Matthew Holbrook recorded a pair of RBI with a single up the middle, giving Assumption a 6-5 lead.
