WALTHAM, Mass. – The Assumption University women's lacrosse team fell in their home opener to the University of New Haven, falling 17-7 in Northeast-10 Conference action Saturday afternoon at Brian Kelly '83 Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
New Haven was the first team to score, as Summer Castiglione scored three minutes in.
Molly Weiand put Assumption on the scoreboard with her tenth goal of the year before
Chloe Scornavacca gave the Greyhounds their first lead of the day two minutes later. The Chargers ended the first quarter on a high note, with back-to-back goals to go up 3-2 after 15 minutes. The second quarter was all UNH, as they outscored Assumption 6-0 while outshooting the hosts 10-4 and would head into halftime up 9-2.
In the third quarter, New Haven pushed its lead to 10-2 before
Kyle Johnston and
Margaret Loeber recorded tallies for the Hounds. The Chargers responded with three straight goals to go up 13-4 before Loeber closed out the third with her second of the game. In the final frame, the Greyhounds saw goals from
Molly Weiand and
Kyle Johnston but were outscored 4-2 in the frame and fell 17-7.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
