MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Assumption University softball team closed out their Spring Break trip with a split against Gannon University and Barry University at the Space Coast Complex on Wednesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Game One Score: Assumption University 9, Gannon University 8
After scoring three runs in the first four innings, Assumption fell behind after allowing four in the fifth. The game would go back and forth as
Molly Green drove in and scored a run in the bottom of the fifth to go back up 5-4. The Golden Knights responded with four runs in the sixth, but the Greyhounds would not go quietly, as they battled back to score four runs in the bottom of the seventh, with
Emily Balducci,
Nadia Zach, and
Grace Heim driving in the runs. Heim came through in the clutch, as she drove in
Mia Clark with a RBI single to walk it off for the Hounds.
Game Two Score: Barry University 19, Assumption University 4 – 5 Innings
Barry started fast, as they scored 11 runs in the first inning before adding eight more runs over the next three frames. Assumption got on the board in the bottom of the third inning, as
Mia Clark and
Bianca Vincequere scored on a throwing error. The Greyhounds tacked on one run in the fourth and the fifth inning but would eventually fall in five innings.
