COLCHESTER, VT.—The Assumption University softball team split their Northeast-10 Conference doubleheader against Saint Michael's College on Friday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Game One Score: Saint Michael's College 3, Assumption University 1
Assumption got on the board in the top of the third inning, as
Kaitlyn Cahill drew a two-out walk before stealing second and third, before scoring on a throwing error by the Saint Michael's College catcher. The Purple Knights plated a pair of unearned runs in the bottom of the fourth, before adding an insurance run in the sixth to take game one 3-1.
Game Two Score: Assumption University 4, Saint Michael's College 0
The Greyhounds struck early in game two, as
Maddy Bland drove in
Naomi Cohen with a single through the left side of the infield in the top of the first inning.
Bianca Vincequere expanded the lead in the top of the fourth inning, as she drove in
Alyssa Johnson with a bunt single. Bland capped off the game with a sacrifice fly to center, plating
Grace Heim on the play.
Kaelin Waldron went the distance for her sixth complete game and her eighth win, as she struck out two in seven scoreless innings.
