MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Assumption University women's lacrosse team's strong first quarter was enough, as the Greyhounds picked up a 14-10 Northeast-10 Conference win over Southern New Hampshire University on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Assumption started fast, as
Katelynn Johnston,
Annika Pyy,
Molly Weiand, and
Kyle Johnston all scored to go up 4-0. Southern New Hampshire responded with three straight tallies, but
Kyle Johnston and
Morgan Bolduc answered to give the Greyhounds a 6-3 lead after the first quarter. The Penmen started to close the gap in the beginning part of the second quarter, but the Hounds answered the three hosts' goals with three of their own, bringing the score to 9-6 at the half.
In the third quarter, SNHU scored the first goal of the frame, but
Chloe Scornavacca and
Margaret Loeber joined in on the scoring, pushing the Assumption advantage to 11-7. Scornavacca opened the fourth with her second of the game, which started a stretch in which the two teams traded the final six goals for a 14-10 final score.
