Kaitlyn Cahill and
Trent Sargent earn Northeast-10 Conference Players of the Week honors, while
Shane Corcoran earned his third NE10 Rookie of the Week award, announced by the conference Monday afternoon.
NE10 Softball Player of the Week
Kaitlyn Cahill, Assumption
Junior I OF I Grafton, Mass.
In eight games last week , Cahill batted .400 with 10 hits, nine runs scored, two doubles, two home runs, seven RBI, and went 6-for-6 in stolen bases. She had three multi-hit games, including a 3-for-4 outing in game one at New Haven on Sunday. One of her homers was inside the park, while the second left the yard.
NE10 Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week
Trent Sargent, Assumption
Junior I D I Hebron, Conn.
Sargent was dominant in two wins for Assumption on the week. Against Franklin Pierce on Wednesday, he forced two turnovers while scooping up six ground balls in a 13-2 win. Sargent capped off the week with six a turnover performance at Saint Michael's College in a 9-5 win. He headlines the nation's second-best scoring defense that allowed a 3.50 goals-against average in two wins. This is his second weekly honor of the year.
NE10 Men's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week
Shane Corcoran, Assumption
Freshman | GK I East Sandwich, Mass.
Corcoran continued his strong freshman campaign as he went 2-0 on the week, where he supported a 79.3 save percentage and a 3.43 goals against average. He opened the week with a 13-save performance against Franklin Pierce, only allowing one goal in 45 minutes of action. Corcoran capped off the week with ten saves at Saint Michael's College in a 10-5 win.
