Alana Wyatt named Assumption University Head Tennis Coach

WORCESTER, Mass. – Assumption University Director of Athletics Eric Gobiel announced the hiring of Alana Wyatt as the head coach of the Greyhounds' men's and women's tennis programs.

Wyatt brings more than 15 years of experience in racquet sports, coaching, and player development, including at the NCAA Division I level.

"I am thrilled to welcome Alana to Assumption as our new men's and women's tennis coach. Her passion for the game, commitment to player development, and enthusiasm for building a strong team culture will be a tremendous asset," stated Assumption Athletic Director Eric Gobiel. "I am excited for her to work with our incredible student-athletes and build on the momentum from the last few seasons. Before joining Assumption, Wyatt served as Tennis Professional and Junior Program Director at Genesis Atlantic Club in Manasquan, N.J. In this role, she oversaw junior tennis programming, developed competitive training programs, coordinated tournaments and clinics, and mentored athletes of varying ages and skill levels."

Wyatt previously served as an assistant tennis coach at the College of the Holy Cross from October 2023 through December 2024. During her time with the Crusaders, she assisted with collegiate practices, individual player development, and team operations while helping foster a competitive team environment.

Additionally, Wyatt worked as a tennis professional at Enfield Tennis Club in Connecticut, providing individual and group instruction while assisting with club operations and player engagement.

"I am incredibly excited and grateful for the opportunity to lead the men's and women's tennis programs at Assumption University," said Wyatt. "I want to thank Eric Gobiel and the athletic department for trusting me with this opportunity. My goal is to build a competitive, positive, and supportive environment where our student-athletes can grow both on and off the court. I look forward to getting to know the team, building on the program's tradition, and working toward competing for Northeast 10 Conference championships."

Beyond her coaching experience, Wyatt brings a background in leadership and management, having previously served as the general manager of Aquitaine in Boston, Mass.

Wyatt earned her bachelor's degree in communications from Franklin Pierce University in 2020 and has completed graduate coursework at the institution.
