PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y.—The Assumption University softball team dropped their first game of the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament, as they fell to Adelphi University 18-5 at the Pace Softball Field Thursday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Adelphi started fast, as they plated one run in the top of the second and three more in the third to go up 4-0. Assumption responded with three runs in the bottom of the third inning, with
Kaitlyn Cahill hitting a solo home run before Reagan Gregoire and
Grace Heim scoring in the frame.
The two teams traded runs in the top of the fifth inning; the Panthers put up a four-spot in the sixth with a grand slam by Brianna Pearson. In the bottom of the frame,
Grace Heim recorded an RBI single to center, plating
Kaylee Lacomb on the play. Adelphi pulled away in the top of the seventh, plating nine runs in the inning.
