Eight 'Hounds earn NEILA All-Region honors

WORCESTER, Mass. - The New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) is proud to announce the 2025 All-New England teams and major award winners for Divisions 1, 2, and 3. The Assumption University men's lacrosse program recorded eight selections on the first or second team, which is only behind Saint Anselm College's nine.

All-New England nominees are submitted by their coaches, and coaches within their respective divisions vote on the teams. Coaches are not allowed to vote for their own players.

Ryan Bogar, Ben McHugh, Trent Sargent, and Connor Stack represent the Greyhounds on the All-New England First team. Bogar, who also earned First Team All-NE10 honors, started all 14 games, leading the Hounds with 18 assists, while ranking second in goals (24) and points (42).

McHugh led Assumption with 33 goals and 42 points en route to an All-NE10 Second Team and All-Rookie Team honor. His 33 goals are the sixth most in a single season in program history since Travis Reid scored 40 in 2019. Sargent led the Greyhounds with 25 caused turnovers, while picking up 42 ground balls in 14 games and took home All-NE10 Third Team honors.

Connor Stack earned Faceoff Specialist of the Year and All-NE10 First Team honors last month, after dominating the faceoff dot for the Greyhounds. He won 69.2 percent (137-of-198) of his faceoffs, shattering the previous program record set by Chris Noyes (.634 in 2011), while ranking third nationally. His 84 ground balls are tied for fourth in program history and sit third in the conference.

Shane Corcoran, Collin McSparren, Colby Leighton, and Tom Raeke earn Second Team honors.

Shane Corcoran was named as the Co-Rookie of the Year, as he had a historic freshman campaign, as he finished in the top four in the Northeast-10 Conference in save percentage (1st - .626), total saves (1st – 164), goals against average (3rd – 7.77), saves per game (2nd – 11.71). Nationally, he is first in save percentage and fifth in goals against average. Corcoran's season includes breaking the program record for wins in a season (10), while his goals against average misses out in the top 10. He became just the third Rookie of the Year in program history, joining Cameron Theriault '19 and Chris Noyes '09. Corcoran was also named to the All-NE10 Third Team and the All-Rookie Team.

McSparren was named to the All-NE10 Second Team, as he appeared in 13 games off the bench, while setting new career-highs in both caused turnovers (10) and ground balls (21). In 12 games this season, Leighton led the Assumption defense with the fifth-ranked scoring defense (7.91), as he recorded 26 ground balls and 15 caused turnovers, as he was named to the All-NE10 Second Team. Raeke was a key component of the Assumption defense, as he logged 22 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers in 12 games for an All-NE10 Third Team honor.
