WORCESTER, Mass. --The Assumption University baseball game closed the 2025 season with a 24-7 loss to Saint Anselm College at Rocheleau Field on Saturday afternoon.
THE BASICS:
Score: Saint Anselm College: 24, Assumption University 7
Records: Greyhounds 5-36 (3-22 NE10), Hawks 15-30 (9-16 NE10)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Hawks sent a message in the first inning, putting up ten runs in the frame. Being Senior Day, closing the season, the score was rightfully on the back burner. What mattered Saturday afternoon was playing time; 29 Greyhounds appeared in the game.
Max Lefrancois,
Sal Grinstead,
Matthew Holbrook, and
James McDermott recorded multiple hits. Grinstead led the offense by going 3-4 with a double and an RBI.
Assumption went through the full rolodex of available pitchers. The Hounds used a new arm each inning, except in the third inning when they kept
Austin Stone on the hill. Stone pitched 2.0 innings, allowing one earned run in nine batters faced.
