MANCHESTER, NH– The Assumption University volleyball team won three straight sets to defeat Southern New Hampshire University 3-1 in non-conference action, Tuesday evening inside Stan Spirou Field House.

Records: Greyhounds (2-9, 0-0 NE10) | Penmen (0-11, 0-0 NE10)
HOW IT HAPPENED
The opening set was tightly contested, as neither team would establish much momentum early on. Southern New Hampshire was the first team to manage a slight lead at 14-8. Assumption would battle back and would tie the set at 19-19, but the Penmen would hold off the late run and would take the first set 25-23. In the second set, the two teams continued to play as a team for the majority of the frame. However, with the score tied at 17-17, the Greyhounds went on an 8-4 run to capture the set 25-21.
The third set started tight, but when the score was tied at 5-5, the combination of
Lily Petrocelli and
Lily LeDuc powered a 20-10 run for the Hounds to run away with the frame 25-15. Assumption started strong in the fourth, but the Penmen would close the gap and would tie the frame at 10-10. The Greyhounds would put the match away, as they would go on a 15-7 run to win 25-17.
