WORCESTER, Mass.—The Assumption University men's and women's cross country teams begin their season this Saturday, September 6, at the Shacklette Invitational hosted by Saint Anselm College in Manchester, NH. The men's cross country team returns a solid core from a 2024 season that set a program-best finish in the NE10 Championship, claiming second place. The women's team is poised for improvement, returning all of their top runners from 2024.
Evan Laws,
Anthony Manna, and
Colby Medeiros are back to lead the pack in 2025. They make up three of the four top finishers for the Hounds in the NE10 Championship last season.
Joseph Carroll, who individually place 5th in last year's Championship, graduated in the Spring of 2025. His departure leaves an open competition for the spot of top-dog on the cross country team.
For the women's team, the only graduating member of the 2024 squad was
Meredith Medina, who rounded out the top-five finishers consistently last season. The Greyhounds women's cross country team will be led by
Tatiana Chaplin,
Michaella Namiotka,
Camryn Sprague, and
Anna Romano. A strong incoming class of freshmen runners are hoping to strengthen the Greyhounds in a highly competitive NE10 conference.
