HOW IT HAPPENED:
After Southern New Hampshire scored the first two baskets of the game to go up 4-0, Assumption started hitting from long range, going 4-for-4 from beyond the arc to go up 12-9. The first Greyhound basket inside the arc was a free throw by Myles Alcindor, which sparked a 10-3 run to go up by ten (22-12), capped off by a step-back three-pointer by Baril Mawo. SNHU responded with an 18-8 run to eventually tie the game at 30-30 with 4:28 left in the first half. The Hounds finished the opening 20 minutes strong, as they closed out the first half on an 8-4 run, capped off by a Noah Payne baseline layup as time expired, giving the Blue and White a 38-34 lead.

Southern New Hampshire started the second half on a 5-0 run to regain the lead (39-38) less than a minute in. After both sides connected from long range, Assumption went on a 6-0 run to go up 47-42, forcing a SNHU timeout at the 17:16 mark. Following a layup by the Penmen, the Hounds continued their run with another 8-0 run to go up by 11 (55-44), forcing another timeout by the hosts. Out of the timeout, Southern New Hampshire ripped off an 11-5 run, trimming the Assumption advantage down to five (60-55). The two teams would continue to trade runs, as Noah Payne and Daouda Dembele powered a 10-4 run to go back up 11 (70-59) with 8:17 left in regulation.
