WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption University women's soccer team saw
Elizabeth Schoeneberger continue her scoring streak as the Greyhounds upended reigning Northeast 10 champions Saint Anselm College, 3-0, on Wednesday afternoon at Normand R. Marois '57 Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Assumption wasted little time getting on the scoreboard, as
Elizabeth Schoeneberger found the back of the net just 5:41 into the contest off an assist from
Colbie Gisleson. The Greyhounds kept up the offensive pressure, with
Lilina Shiers recording two shots on goal in the opening half. Saint Anselm got several scoring chances, but
Kaylin Hebert made three saves to preserve Assumption's 1-0 lead heading into halftime.
The Hawks came out aggressively in the second half, nearly finding the equalizer in the 52nd minute when Amarys Jimenez struck the post. However, the Greyhounds responded in the 56th minute when Schoeneberger netted her second goal of the afternoon and fourth of the season on an assist from
Rachael Geniuch, extending Assumption's lead to 2-0.
Just under five minutes later, the Greyhounds added another insurance goal when Geniuch scored her second of the season in the 61st minute. Gisleson picked up her second assist on the play, giving Assumption a commanding 3-0 lead.
Saint Anselm kept pushing offensively in the closing minutes, but Hebert turned away four second-half shots, including back-to-back saves in the 87th and 88th minutes, to secure the shutout.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
