WALTHAM, Mass.— The Assumption University men's basketball team had a slow start, which they could not overcome, as the Greyhounds would fall to Bentley University 77-62 in Northeast 10 Conference action, Saturday afternoon.
THE BASICS:

Records: Greyhounds (14-10, 9-6 NE10) | Falcons (17-7, 10-5 NE10)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Bentley started fast, racing out to an 8-4 advantage before expanding it to 11 points (21-10) before the under-12 media timeout. The Falcons would see their lead grow to 15 points in the first half following a Cooper Farrell three-pointer at the 9:11 marker, but Assumption would go on a 14-10 run to close out the first half, with
Lenny Tangishaka leading the way with nine. The hosts would hold an 11-point lead (37-26) at the intermission.
Coming out of halftime,
Daouda Dembele fueled a 9-5 run with six points, trimming the deficit down to seven (42-35). The Greyhounds would attempt a comeback, but the Falcons answered every basket that Hounds would hold on for a 77-62 final score.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Lenny Tangishaka poured in a career-high 20 points to lead all scorers.
- Bentley had the slight edge on the glass, winning the rebounding battle 37-34, while they outscored Assumption 25-10 in the paint.
- With a basket to open the second half, Daouda Dembele joined the 1,000 point club, becoming the 47thin program history to score all 1,000 points in an Assumption uniform.
- The Falcons shot 51.0 percent from the floor, while the Hounds shot 37.9 percent.
- Bentley leads the all-time series 56-30
