WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption University women's lacrosse team fell to Bentley University 14-7 in Northeast 10 Conference action, Saturday afternoon at Brian Kelly '83 Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Bentley scored the first three goals of the game, before
Margaret Loeber scored twice before the end of the first quarter to make it 3-2 Falcons after 15 minutes of action. The visitors opened up the second with a trio of goals, but Loeber struck again, making it 6-3. Bentley tacked on two more goals to close out the first half, to go up 8-3 at the intermission.
Coming out of halftime,
Jillian Gillis and
Kyle Johnston combined for three goals to get Assumption back within two (8-6), but Betsy Norko responded with a free position strike, giving the Falcons a three-point advantage, heading into the final quarter.
Aleigh Thompson began the fourth quarter with her tenth goal of the second, but Bentley would end the contest on a 5-0 run, to win the game 14-7.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Grace Cashman recorded six saves.
- Offensively, the Greyhounds were led by Margaret Loeber, who scored three goals, while Jillian Gillis scored twice.
- Aleigh Thompson was all over the field for the Blue and White, as she scored one goal and one assist, while adding three ground balls and four caused turnovers.
- Assumption outshot Bentley 34-31, while the Falcons won 12-of-22 draw controls.
- Bentley leads the all-time series 30-5
