DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Assumption University softball team dropped two games of the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Round Robin tournament against Embry-Riddle and Rollins College on Friday afternoon.

Game One Score: Embry-Riddle University 10, Assumption University 2 – Five Innings
Game Two Score: Rollins College 5, Assumption University 4 – 8 Innings

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Game One Score: Embry-Riddle University 10, Assumption University 2 – Five Innings
Embry-Riddle was the first team to score, as they plated one run in the bottom of the first inning. Assumption tied the game in the top of the second, as
Bianca Vincequere drove in
Maddy Bland with a sacrifice bunt. The Eagles broke the game open in the bottom of the second, as they plated six runs in the frame to go up 7-1.
The Greyhounds cut into the deficit at the top of the fourth, as
Izzy Viglione drove in
Emma Bloom with a sacrifice fly to center. The hosts pulled away in the bottom of the fourth, as they plated three more runs to go up 10-2.
Game Two Score: Rollins College 5, Assumption University 4 – 8 Innings
In game two, Assumption was the first team to score, as
Kaitlyn Cahill scored on a double steal with
Jaiden Tonucci. Rollins was held off the scoreboard until the top of the fourth as Kaeli Zahradnik hit a three-run home run to left field. The Greyhounds cut the deficit in half in the bottom of the fourth, as
Kaylee Lacomb scored on an RBI groundout by
Bella Mara.
After the Tars added an insurance run at the top of the sixth, the Hounds would tie the game in the bottom of the seventh, with Cahill driving in a pair of runs with two outs in the frame with a double down the left field line. Rollins would regain the lead in the top of the eighth.
