RINDGE, N.H. – The No. 19 nationally ranked Assumption University men's lacrosse team used a massive second half to pull away from Franklin Pierce University, XX-X, in Northeast 10 Conference action, Wednesday afternoon at Sodexo Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Boomer Staunton was the first one to score, as he put Assumption in front early in the first quarter. After a pair of goals by Franklin Pierce,
Nolan Johnson tied the game at 2-2 before Staunton regained the lead for the Greyhounds. In the second quarter, the two teams traded goals, sending the game to halftime tied at 5-5.
Assumption began the second half in complete control, as they potted the first four goals of the frame to go up 9-5. After a pair of man-up goals by Franklin Pierce, the Greyhounds added three more strikes to go up 12-7 entering the final frame of action. In the fourth, it was
Max Lowenberg, Staunton, and
Brian Shortt for the Hounds to push the final score to 16-7.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Shane Corcoran recorded 10 saves in the win.
- Max Lowenberg established new career-highs in assists (6) and points (9).
- Boomer Staunton had a game-high five goals on the day, tying him with Travis Reid (2018) for the fourth most goals in a single season in program history with 40.
- Assumption outshot Franklin Pierce 57-29, while also winning 15-of-26 faceoffs.
- The Greyhounds now lead the all-time series 15-9.
