MANCHESTER, N.H.—The Assumption University softball team got back in the win column, as they picked up a Saturday sweep of Southern New Hampshire University, in Northeast 10 Conference action.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Game One Score: Assumption University 7, Southern New Hampshire University 3
Southern New Hampshire was the first team to score, as they got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the second inning on a bases-loaded walk, before making it 2-0 in the third on a fielder's choice. Assumption got on the board in the top of the fifth inning, as they plated three runs in the frame, with
Naomi Cohen,
Kaitlyn Cahill,
Emma Bloom, and
Nadia Zach recording RBI in the inning to go up 5-2.
After a solo home run by the hosts in the bottom of the fifth, the Greyhounds added two more runs in the seventh, with
Maddy Bland and Zach driving in the runs to win it 7-3.
Paige Cote picked up the win, as she pitched 3.0 innings in relief, where she struck out three before being lifted for
Kaelin Waldron, who pitched a perfect 1.1 innings to pick up the save.
Game Two Score: Assumption University 1, Southern New Hampshire University 0
After the two teams combined for ten runs in game one, the nightcap was low scoring, with Assumption scoring the lone run of the game with
Kaylee Lacomb driving in
Jaiden Tonucci with a single to center field in the top of the fifth.
Waldron picked up the complete game shutout, as she scattered five hits and struck out four. The Greyhounds applied pressure on the bases, as they stole eight bases, increasing their season total to 132.
