MANCHESTER, N.H.—The Assumption University softball team took game one 6-1, but would fall in game two 5-1 at Southern New Hampshire University in Northeast 10 action, Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Game One Score: Assumption University 6, Southern New Hampshire University 1
Assumption started the scoring in the top of the third inning, as they plated three runs in the frame on a pair of Southern New Hampshire errors. The Greyhounds continued to capitalize on the Penmen miscues, as
Bianca Vincequere scored on a fielding error by the shortstop in the top of the fourth, going up 4-0
Kaitlyn Cahill scored the first Hounds' run that didn't benefit from an error, as she hit a solo home run to left field on the first pitch of the top of the fifth. SNHU would get on the board in the bottom of the fifth, as they scored just one run on a bases-loaded walk, cutting the deficit to 5-1. Assumption regained a five-run advantage with an RBI single from
Nadia Zach, driving in
Jaiden Tonucci on the play, making it 6-1.
Kya Birtz pitched the complete game win for the Greyhounds, as she allowed just three hits and struck out two.
Game Two Score: Southern New Hampshire University 5, Assumption University 1
Southern New Hampshire was the first team to get on the scoreboard, as they plated two runs in the bottom of the third, before finding an insurance run in the fourth. Assumption got on the board in the fifth, as
Jaiden Tonucci drove in
Siena Nardelli with a single to right field. The Penmen tacked on two more runs in the bottom of the fifth, to go up 5-1.
