NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Assumption University women's lacrosse team snapped their losing streak with a 12-10 Northeast 10 Conference win at Southern Connecticut State University, Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Southern Connecticut was the first team to score, as Breya Montague found the back of the cage, five minutes in. Assumption responded with three goals in just under two minutes, as
Annie Ettenhofer and
Margaret Loeber both scored, making it 3-1 after 15 minutes of action. The Owls tied the contest just past the halfway mark of the second period, but
Molly Trahan and Ettenhofer regained the lead for the Greyhounds. The hosts got one before the end of the first half, to cut the deficit to 5-4 at the break.
Southern took the lead early in the third quarter, as they netted two goals two minutes in. Assumption responded with four of the next five goals to go up 9-7, with
Ava MacDonald and
Aleigh Thompson joining in on the scoring action. The Owls capped off the third with another goal, cutting the margin back to one goal (9-8). In the fourth, the two teams traded the first four goals of the frame, but Ettenhofer scored an up-goal in the final minute, giving the Greyhounds a 12-10 win.
