WORCESTER, Mass.—The Assumption University softball team earns a midweek split against Bentley University in Northeast 10 Conference action. After dropping game one 8-0, the Greyhounds rallied to win game two by the same score.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Game One Score: Bentley University 8, Assumption University 0
Bentley started fast, as they plated six runs in the first inning, which was capped off by a Carly Dimento grand slam to left field. The Falcons would tack on two more runs, with one in the fifth and one in the seventh, to take game one 8-0.
Maddy Bland and
Nadia Zach each had a pair of hits for Assumption, while Bland had three steals, and
Kaitlyn Cahill had a pair.
Game Two Score: Assumption University 8, Bentley University 0 – 5 Innings
The Greyhounds flipped the script in game two, as they plated three runs in the bottom of the first inning, as Bland, Zach, and
Naomi Cohen drove in runs in the frame and base knocks. Assumption broke the game open in the second, as they plated four runs in the frame to go up 7-0.
Bianca Vincequere, Cahill,
Emma Bloom, and
Izzy Viglione recorded the RBI in the inning.
Cahill crossed the plate in the fourth on a Bloom suicide squeeze, extending the hosts' advantage to 8-0.
Kya Birtz pitched a complete game shutout, as she struck out six and scattered four hits. Cahill was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate, while she had two of the Greyhounds' eight stolen bases in game two.
