COLCHESTER, VT.—The Assumption University softball team pushed their winning streak to four games before falling in game two to Saint Michael's College to split the Northeast 10 Conference doubleheader on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Game One Score: Assumption University 5, Saint Michael's College 4
Assumption was the first team to score, as
Kaitlyn Cahill legged out an infield single, while also driving in
Jaiden Tonucci on the play. Saint Michael's took the lead in the bottom of the fourth, as they plated a pair of runs.
The Greyhounds tied the game in the sixth, as
Emma Bloom drove in
Maddy Bland on a sacrifice fly to right field. The Blue and White broke the game open with three runs in the top of the seventh, as
Kaylee Lacomb and Tonucci both scored on an error, and
Nadia Zach crossed the plate on a sacrifice fly. The Purple Knights scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh, but they could not find the game-tying run, as Assumption would walk away with a 5-4 win.
Game Two Score: Saint Michael's College 3, Assumption University 2
Assumption started fast, as they plated two runs in the top of the first inning, as
Kaitlyn Cahill stole third and scored on a throwing error by the Saint Michael's catcher, before
Bella Mara drove in
Emma Bloom later in the frame.
The Purple Knights would eventually get on the board in the bottom of the third, as they scored three runs in the frame to go up 3-2. The Greyhounds would threaten in the sixth inning, as they would get a runner to third base with one out in the inning, but they could not find the equalizer.
