WORCESTER, Mass.—The Assumption University softball team fell in a pair of tight contests against No. 18 Franklin Pierce University, Wednesday evening at Normand R. Marois '57 Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Game One Score: Franklin Pierce University 3, Assumption University 2
Assumption got on the board in the bottom of the second, as the Greyhounds executed a double steal by
Naomi Cohen and
Kaylee Lacomb, with Lacomb swiping home on the play. Franklin Pierce tied the game in the top of the fourth, as Savannah Arreguin scored on a passed ball.
The game would remain knotted at 1-1 until the top of the sixth, as Charlit Hartenstein drove in a pair with a double to left field. The hosts grabbed a run in the bottom of the frame, as
Maddy Bland scored on a throwing error, but that would be all that Assumption would get and would fall 3-2.
Game Two Score: Franklin Pierce University 6, Assumption University 2
Franklin Pierce was the first team to score in the nightcap, as they plated four runs in the top of the second. Assumption got on the board in the third, as
Emma Bloom drove in
Bianca Vincequere with a single up the middle. The Ravens struck for two more runs in the sixth to go up 6-1, but
Bella Mara would score on a sacrifice fly to right field off the bat of
Molly Green to make the final score 6-2.
