WORCESTER, Mass.– The Assumption University women's lacrosse team finished off the regular season with a 14-9 win over Franklin Pierce University to head into the Northeast 10 Conference playoffs, Tuesday evening at Brian Kelly '83 Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Assumption started fast, averaging a goal per minute in the first half of the opening period, scoring eight goals in the first eight minutes.
Aleigh Thompson netted three goals and added three assists for the first six goals of the contest, while
Kyle Johnston,
Morgan Bolduc,
Molly Trahan, and
Ava MacDonald also scored, as the Greyhounds would take a 10-0 lead into the second quarter.
Chloe Scornavacca opened the second with her sixth tally of the year, before Franklin Pierce got on the board 4:31 into the period. MacDonald stretched the Hounds' lead back to 11 (12-2), but Bella Adams scored in the final minute, sending the game into halftime with the hosts leading 12-2.
In the second half, Trahan and Bolduc pushed the Assumption advantage to 14-2 before Franklin Pierce answered with a pair of their own, sending the game to the fourth quarter with the Greyhounds leading 14-4. In the fourth quarter, the Ravens made things interesting as they netted five goals, cutting the deficit in half, but the Hounds' advantage was too much to overcome, and they walked away with a 14-9 final score.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Grace Cashman and Madeleine Estes combined to record five saves.
- Three different players recorded a hat trick for the Greyhounds, as Molly Trahan, Aleigh Thompson, and Kyle Johnston all scored three goals, while Thompson had a game-high six points.
- Annie Ettenhoffer was all over the first for the Blue and White, as she recorded five ground balls and three caused turnovers.
- Assumption outshot Franklin Pierce 29-20, while also winning 14-of-25 draw controls.
- The Blue and White extended their winning streak to four games, the longest since they won four in a row from April 18 through May 1 during the 2019 campaign.
- The Greyhounds now lead all-time series 23-7.
