WORCESTER, Mass.—Assumption University softball freshman
Bella Mara led the way, as the way, as the Greyhounds swept American International, 10-2, 7-6, in Northeast 10 Conference action, Saturday afternoon, at Normand R. Marois '57 Field, on Senior Day.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Game One Score: Assumption University 10, American International 2 – 5 Innings
Assumption started fast, as
Maddy Bland scored in the bottom of the first inning on an error by the American International centerfielder. The Yellow Jackets took the lead in the top of the second, as they plated two runs. The Greyhounds tied the game in the bottom of the third, as
Kaitlyn Cahill scored on a Bland sacrifice fly to center.
The Blue and White broke the game open in the bottom of the fourth, as
Bella Mara hit a solo home run to begin the inning. Two runs scored, as
Ella Leduc reached on a throwing error, before
Nevaeh Fatorma scored on a throwing error. Cahill came around to score on a fielder's choice before Mara hit her second home run of the frame, as she blasted a three-run shot to left field.
Kaelin Waldron picked up the win, as she scattered three hits and struck out seven.
Game Two Score: Assumption University 7, American International 6 – 8 Innings
The Greyhounds jumped out to another early lead, as they scored four runs in the bottom of the first, with Bland, Bloom, and
Naomi Cohen driving in runs. The Yellow Jackets plated three runs in the top of the third before taking the lead with two runs in the fourth.
AIC pushed their lead to 6-4 with one run in the fifth, before Cahill scored on a
Kaylee Lacomb groundout. Bloom tied the game with an RBI single to right field before Mara walked it off in the eighth with an RBI single to center.
