WORCESTER, Mass.—The Assumption University baseball team could not complete the comeback in game one, 14-13, and would drop the second game against Pace University 8-1 in Northeast 10 Conference action, Saturday afternoon at H.L. Rocheleau '24 Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Game One Score: Pace University 14, Assumption University 13
Pace started fast with a two-run home run in the top of the first inning. Assumption responded in the bottom of the first with a
Chris Klein RBI single. The Greyhounds would take a 4-2 lead following a bases-clearing double by
Tony Salvatelli. Pace tied the game at 4-4 with two runs in the top of the fourth. The Blue and White regained the lead with
Christopher Manzo and
Michael Caron picking up RBI in the frame.
The Setters answered in the top of the sixth, as they drove in six runs in the inning, before going up 12-6 with two more runs in the seventh. Assumption would slowly chip away at the deficit with Salvatelli scoring in the bottom of the seventh on a wild pitch. Nick Carlucci made it 14-7 with a two-run home run in the eighth, but in the bottom of the frame, the Greyhounds would plate six runs. Paharik drove in
Will Panza with an RBI single, Caron plated Paharik, Salvatelli drove in a pair with a single, and
Eric Giarnese doubled home Salvatelli and Klein.
The Greyhounds would get a runner on first base in the bottom of the ninth, but they could not find the tying run, and they would fall 14-13.
Game Two Score: Pace University 8, Assumption University 1
Assumption was the first team to score in the second game of the day, as
Patrick McManus doubled home Panza in the first. Pace flipped the script, as they plated one run in the fourth, before scoring four in the fifth and three more in the sixth to win the nightcap 8-1.
