FLUSHING, N.Y. — After winning the doubles point, the Assumption University women's tennis team would fall to the top-seeded Adelphi University Panthers, 4-1, in the Northeast 10 Conference Championship on Tuesday afternoon at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.

The Greyhounds had a strong start, as they won the doubles point. After
Danielle de Souza and
Mia Monje won 6-4 at No. 3,
Laurence Bosmans and
Marie Knispel had the clinching point with a 7-5 win at No. 2 doubles.
In singles action, Adelphi bounced back to win all four points to capture the Northeast 10 Conference Championship for the fifth time in program history and the second in three seasons.
