RINDGE, N.H.—The Assumption University softball team played two tight games against No. 21 Franklin Pierce University on Wednesday afternoon, but the Greyhounds would come up short on both ends of the Northeast 10 Conference doubleheader.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Game One Score: Franklin Pierce University 5, Assumption University 4
Assumption capitalized with some small ball in the top of the first inning, as they plated two runs, while stealing four bases. Franklin Pierce responded in the bottom of the frame, as Delaney Duford hit a two-run home run to tie the game. The Greyhounds went back in front at the top of the second, as
Maddy Bland hit a two-run home run.
The Ravens would take the lead in the bottom of the fifth inning, as they plated three runs in the frame to go up 5-4.
Game Two Score: Franklin Pierce University 6, Assumption University 1
For the second straight game, Assumption was the first team to score as
Maddy Bland roped a double to left field and would come around to score after stealing third, and the throw got away from the third baseman.
The nationally ranked Ravens would not be held silent, as they would plate five runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, before adding a solo home run in the fifth to go up 6-1.
