EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa.– The Assumption University field hockey team was 15-seconds away from a 1-0 shutout, but a late goal and a score in overtime gave No. 4 East Stroudsburg University a 2-1 decision on Sunday afternoon at Whitenight Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Assumption struck first late in the opening quarter.
Marta Brzoska, who had already forced a save in the fourth minute, found the back of the cage at 13:43 to give the Greyhounds a 1-0 advantage. Abigail Derosier made a save on East Stroudsburg's lone shot on goal in the period to preserve the lead.
The Greyhounds carried the 1-0 advantage through halftime and into the fourth quarter. Assumption generated a pair of penalty corners in the third, with Brzoska having a shot blocked before
Racquel Provost put an attempt on goal. Derosier made two more saves in the third to keep East Stroudsburg scoreless.
Assumption pushed for an insurance goal early in the fourth, as Brzoska put a shot on goal at 46:04 before firing another attempt wide three seconds later.
Nova Rijks added another chance following a Greyhound penalty corner. The 1-0 lead held until the final seconds of regulation, when East Stroudsburg converted a penalty corner with 15 seconds remaining to tie the game at 1-1 and force overtime.
Derosier turned away an East Stroudsburg attempt 51 seconds into overtime, but the Warriors scored the game-winner at 62:07 to secure the 2-1 decision. Derosier finished the contest with seven saves for the Greyhounds.
