2016: Named to the Annual Steve "Merc" Morris All-Star Team... Started all 12 games… Totaled 48 tackles, 26 solo… He intercepted the ball twice and returned it for zero yards… He recorded 13 pass breakups… He had his best game vs. Shepard, where he recorded five solo tackles, intercepted the ball once, and recorded one pass breakup... Finished career seventh in program history with seven interceptions.
2015: Played in all 13 games for the Hounds… Finished the year with two interceptions and 15 break-ups at defensive back… Totaled 75 tackles, 54 of them unassisted… Had three tackles for a loss and one forced fumble on the year… Returned an interception 76 yards vs New Haven on 10/9/15… Had four break-ups, one forced fumble, and 12 total tackles in the Hounds NCAA matchup vs. Bowie State on 11/21/15.
2014: Northeast-10 First Team All-Conference selection... Worcester Area First Team All-Star... Don Hansen's Football Gazette Honorable Mention All-Region selection... Beyond Sports Network (BSN) Second Team All-Region... Two-time selection to the Northeast-10 Weekly Honor Roll... Ranked second in the Northeast-10 and 17th in the nation in passes defensed at 1.5 per game. Appeared in 11 games… Led the team with four interceptions for 55 total yards on the season including an interception for a touchdown… Finished with 68 tackles on the year, 43 of them unassisted… Had 13 total break-ups and one tackle for a loss… Had nine tackles, three break-ups, and an interception for 52 yards against Merrimack on 10/18/14.
2013: Appeared in nine games at Dean College, finishing season with 32 total tackles, including 26 solo stops and six assisted tackles... Added one tackle for loss and one interception vs. Erie Community College... Posted a season-best nine total tackles vs. Nassau Community College.
Prior to Assumption: Transferred from Dean College, where he played football... Played football, basketball and soccer at Burke High School... Two-time 4AA All-Region selection in 2010 and 2011... In high school, he had 120 total tackles, 2,100 all-purpose yards, eight interceptions and three forced fumbles... At Dean College, he posted 36 tackles, one interception and one forced fumble... Volunteered with the Back to School Drive with Mayor Riley in Charleston, S.C.
Personal: Son of Vetta Nelson and Darren Blunt... Born June 30... Has four siblings, Danielle Blunt, Tyra Wigfall, Jessica Nelson and Morgan Blunt... Danielle played volleyball and basketball at Brunswick Community College... Related to Luther Broughton, who played in the NFL for the Carolina Panthers and the Philadelphia Eagles.
